Michael P. Carey

Michael is a 1990 graduate of Minersville Area High School. He continued his education at Lock Haven University where he was a member of the baseball team. He then transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania where in 1992 he graduated from the Police Academy and obtained his act 120 certification.

In October of 1992 Michael began his career with the Saint Clair Police Department. During his career he held the rank of Sergeant and in 2001 to Chief of Police. He remained in that position until his retirement in September of 2015. Michael has over forty certifications and attended a variety of schools and trainings. Training included Police Supervisor Training, criminal investigations, homicide, and advanced homicide training. Interviewing & Interrogating techniques, child abuse investigation. Critical incident & Crisis management response in school emergencies and quick action deployment. From 2011 to 2013 Michael was a consultant to the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office & Schuylkill County Drug Task Force for a methamphetamine grant.

After his retirement from the Saint Clair Police Department, he obtained the Act 235 certification and worked as a private investigator and armed asset protection. Michael is active within the Fraternal Order of Police and is the president of Black Diamond Lodge #80.
