Carl G. McBreen Ed.D.

Dr. McBreen is a 1985 graduate of St. Clair High School. He continued his education at Kutztown University where he was a member of the football (freshman year) and baseball teams. Dr. McBreen obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education graduating in 1989. After substitute teaching for a brief time, he was employed at the Minersville Area School District. From 1990 through 1999 Dr. McBreen taught grades third, fourth, and sixth. He also coached football and basketball while also serving as a PIAA baseball umpire.

Dr. McBreen began his administrative career after completing his principal certification at Temple University. Upon completion, he was hired as an assistant principal at the Blue Mountain School District. He served at the Blue Mountain Elementary East School for one year before the Minersville Area School District offered him a position to return. Dr. McBreen returned to Minersville as an Assistant Principal from grades Kindergarten to Twelfth grade. He served in this position for six years from 2000 through 2006. In 2006, Dr. McBreen was hired as the High School Principal. He remained in that position until 2013. In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of School and remained in the position until his retirement on June 30th of 2024. Dr. McBreen was involved in various affiliations during his career that include the Schuylkill League President and Vice-President, a member of the District XI Committee, President of the Schuylkill County Land Bank, President of the Anthracite Football League, Penn State Advisory Board, SEDCO, Minersville Civil Service Commission, and the High Ridge Improvement District.
